Savills has hired supply chain and logistics veteran J.C. Renshaw as the global brokerage expands its North American team in one of the hottest property sectors.
The firm, based in London, named Renshaw as one of its main supply chain advisers across the continent. He is based in Charleston, South Carolina.
Renshaw will work with North America Executive Vice President Gregg Healy in the brokerage's manufacturing, distribution and retail platform. Healy, who heads Savills' North American industrial group, was the first key logistics hire made by David Lipson, who was appointed Savills North American president in March 2021.
Since the firm hired Healy last year the team has opened offices and added brokers, consultants and other key employees in the United States and Canada.
When Healy joined Savills he told CoStar News that "the focus of my efforts this first year is really around tools, technology, research and consultancy."
Renshaw is expected to focus on helping clients develop and streamline their supply chain and logistics networks, the company said.
Healy said in a statement that Renshaw's "broad practical knowledge and skills in distribution center and manufacturing operations," combined with his consulting background, will benefit clients as Savills expands in industrial real estate.
Renshaw joins Savills from brokerage Avison Young, where he served as director of consulting services in Charleston.
Among other commercial real estate roles over the past 30 years, Renshaw worked for Accenture, one of the world’s biggest consulting firms, and was a principal with Honour Consulting, based in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Early in his career, Renshaw built and launched distribution center and supply chain networks for Atlanta-based Home Depot, the nation's biggest home improvement retail chain.
